FAQ

How would you describe your style?

My style is natural, relaxed, fun and candid. I offer guidance when taking our location photos but never over-pose. I love documenting real love with light-filled images as well as moody, rich hues, vintage black and white and cotton candy skies at sunset.  My editing style is modest and organic – a beautiful and honest representation of your day.

What are your personalities like?

I am very easy going and love to have fun with my couples while remaining professional and focused on capturing beautiful photos. I love bonding over a love of food, travel and wedding planning (I love helping you with recommendations for wedding suppliers and creatives).

What if we hate being in front of the camera?

I feel you. I hear this all the time but always manage to help my couples relax and forget they have a camera on them at all. I help you to focus on each other and your bridal party so that you are having fun and enjoying the quiet moments.

How long does it take for us to receive our photos?

My turnaround time is usually 6-10 weeks depending on the time of season, but I will have a sneak peak ready for you sooner.

How do I receive my photos?

You will receive your retouched photos in a range of black and white and colour, on a custom USB (in both low res for email/web use and high res for printing).

Do I have to pay you for prints?

No, you don’t need to pay for printing. Once you receive your images, they are yours to share and print.  I just ask that you go somewhere that colour corrects photos and avoid places like Officeworks and Harvey Norman.  Contact me for suggestions.

How much are your packages?

I have a range of packages starting at $2995. Contact me for details package information and prices.

Do you travel and what are your travel fees?

For locations within Victoria, I charge a price per km for locations more than 50km outside of the Geelong region.  I would also need an allowance for a nights accommodation if it means I wouldn't be home until late. For interstate and international travel, contact me for more information (I offer very good discounts for exotic places ;)

Do you offer wedding albums?

Yes! However you don't have to purchase one at the time of booking. Once you receive your photos, you can either make an album yourself online or I can design a beautiful album to tell the story of your day. Our designer albums are beautifully hand-crafted, with thick fine art pages and your choice of leather/linen cover with your names embossed on the cover.  Contact me if you'd like to see some photo examples or have any other questions.

How long do you spend on family photos?

I like to spend about 15-20 minutes directly after you have been congratulated post ceremony to take some quick family photos.  I ask that you keep these as immediate as possible so that it runs smoothly (max 10-15 variations).

Can I upload my wedding photos to social media or share the ones you post online?

Of course! You can use any of your photos as long as you promise not to crop, use filters or alter them in any way. And I always love to be tagged.

Can I share my photos with our suppliers or submit them to wedding blogs?

I am more than happy for you to share and submit your photos but would appreciate you contacting us first so that I can liase with your suppliers to make sure we are credited and the photos are used correctly.

How many wedding photos will I get?

From 500-1000 depending on which package you choose. I am all about quality over quantity and am very generous in including all of the photos that I know you’ll love. Contact me for package information.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

I sure do! And I love them. Contact me for more information.

Do you have any advice from a photographer's perspective for our wedding day?

• Prioritise getting a beautiful (and tidy) air bnb/hotel room or a unique (and tidy) location for your getting ready photos. It's a good idea to look for somewhere that has a nice established garden and some possible shade outdoors. Try to avoid anywhere overly stylised and find somewhere with character.

• Allow 1.5-2 hours for location photos (not including any travel time). I can work to less time but this is ideal.

• The Golden Hour
The hour just before sunset is where your skin will be sun-kissed and we can capture those golden hues, marshmallow skies that we know you love (providing it's the time of year for a sunset!). I highly recommend having some or all your location photos within this time if possible.

• Ceremony Time
I also recommend that you try to avoid having your ceremony when the sun is at its highest. (Generally from 12-2pm in winter and 11-3.30pm in summer.) Alternatively you could opt for a shady area. This way, we can avoid those harsh shadows and squinting eyes for your ceremony and family photos. Again, this is only a suggestion as I can work my magic if the sun is out to say hello!

• Splurge on your favourite photographer. The memories in your photos will far outlive the small details of the day.

• Be aware of your reception lighting - if the dance floor is dark, maybe think about adding some festoon lights.

• If you're having a videographer, it's a good idea to run it past me or ask for recommendations. It's important that we are both on the same page in terms of style and process so that you are making the most of your investment.

If you have any other questions, just ask. I always have time for a chat or to catch up over the phone, skype or a coffee.
